We are the Eckardt and Van Roekel Families. We first met in 2021, when we (Zach and Stacie Eckardt) purchased our farm, just a couple miles south of Alvord, and needed a breeder for our cattle. Lance Van Roekel was recommended by several people, so we called him up and found out how much we have in common, we have been friends ever since. We decided to start this joint venture 2Gather in 2024, to bring high quality freezer meats to our community.

With our U Pick farm, you can get up close and personal with our produce.  While enjoying the serene beautiful nature around our Farm, you can view and select as much product as you want – even tasting plenty along the way!

Blueberry Bottom Farm is a Certified Organic blueberry farm dedicated to healthy, chemical-free growing practices. Visitors can enjoy both you-pick and pre-picked options during the season, making it easy to enjoy fresh, flavorful berries however you prefer. In addition to blueberries, the farm embodies a mission rooted in wellness and sustainability—transitioned to organic following the owner's personal health journey. Expect a peaceful, hands-on experience and berries grown with care.

As a family we have come to enjoy our caseless beef bratwurst. We have found a family owned locker in central Iowa that creates our bratwurst. Different from a traditional bratwurst our beef bratwurst does not have the casing surrounding the meat; which we think creates a more enjoyable eating experience.

Brewer Family Farm is a family-run farm offering high-quality, flavorful beef products—including their signature caseless beef bratwursts, made in collaboration with a local Iowa locker. Available in seven mouthwatering flavors like Cheddar, Bacon Blue Cheese, and Jalapeño Pepper Jack, these bratwursts offer a tender, satisfying bite without the casing.

Visitors are welcome to shop directly at the farm’s on-site barn, where you’ll also find beef sticks, jerky, steaks, roasts, and options for quarter, half, or whole freezer beef. Expect a warm, welcoming atmosphere and products made with care.

We (Nathan and Emily Paulsen) own and operate Brun Ko Farm, located 3 miles East of Elk Horn, IA. We raise pastured beef and pork in addition to eggs, honey, and a wide variety of vegetables. Brun Ko Farm has grown from our shared passion for all thing’s food. From the growing to the preparing and of course, the eating, we enjoy every part of the process. Emily especially enjoys putting together our Date Night CSA boxes which highlight the fact that entire meals can be made from locally produced meats and vegetables. The popular boxes include meat, veggies, herbs, and recipes to prepare a meal. The boxes also include Emily’s homemade desserts. We have 2 kids, Olivia (3yo) and Eli (1.5yo). Luckily, the kids love being outdoors as much as we do and join in on chores in all seasons with 'snow mountain' being the highlight of their winter months. In rare moments of free time, Nathan enjoys camping, bicycling and all manner of tinkering while Emily spends her stolen moments quilting and sitting by the fire with friends and family. In fact, Emily would love to revive old fashioned quilting bees during the winter months. (COVID please go away so this can happen) We also enjoy sharing the farm experience with others through blogging, tours, and group presentations. We have welcomed several school groups to the farm over the past 6 years and we look forward to doing so many more times in the years to come. One of Emily’s favorite memories was of a group that participated in a pepper tasting experience. All the kids tried the colorful variety of sliced peppers, although some of them hesitantly. After trying the peppers, several kids declared with surprise that that they DO like bell peppers after all! 

What is the significance to Brun Ko?
With Danish heritage in both of our families and living in a community that takes great pride in their Danish descent, we decided to incorporate that into our farm name. With that said, our farm began with a small herd of Jersey cattle that will forever be in our hearts. So, the name Brun Ko, meaning 'brown cow' in Danish holds a lot of significance for us.

Buffalo Ridge Orchard (BRO) is a small family farm that relies on a small crew of dedicated staff committed to the production of local food. This includes Vern and Mary Zahradnik who started Buffalo Ridge Orchard with the planting of its first apple tree in 2003. This planting began the transition of a traditional 80-acre agricultural farm to one that supplies healthy local produce. The orchard has expanded from 800 to over 5,500 trees. Today BRO has over 50 different types of new and classic apple varieties. BRO also grows over a dozen different type vegetables and 40 types of herb plants.

Calyx Creek Lavender & Lodging is a one-of-a-kind destination in Oxford, Iowa, where visitors can unwind among rolling fields of lavender, explore a charming farm store filled with lavender treats and products, and stay overnight in unique lodging like treehouses, a cozy suite, or a shepherd’s hut. Country View Dairy is an on-farm creamery located in Hawkeye right on the Rapson Family dairy farm. We specialize in cultured dairy products such as yogurt, frozen yogurt, sour cream & milk. In the front of the creamery we have a Farm Store with a viewing window into the creamery & featuring our farm fresh dairy products along with lots of other locally sourced foods from the area.

At Deal’s Orchard, there's something for everyone! Enjoy picking your own apples, navigating the corn maze, or bouncing on the giant jumping pillow. The farm offers fresh produce, including sweetcorn, tomatoes, and pumpkins, and is famous for its apple cider, pies, cider donuts, and hard cider.

The Downtown Farmers’ Market presented by UnityPoint Health is celebrating its 50th season in 2025! For five decades, The Market has supported farmers, growers and artisan food entrepreneurs from all around the state of Iowa, creating a vibrant gathering place in the heart of the city. 

Visitors can explore an array of offerings, including produce, meat, cheese, eggs, baked goods, plants, flowers and artisan packaged food, handmade art, and ready-to-eat prepared food, alongside unique attractions and activities.

Edge of the Woods Raspberry Farm, is a family-owned farm offering a charming U-pick experience. Since 2005, the farm has grown from a small raspberry patch into a diverse operation featuring red and black raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, tart cherries, and more. Visitors can pick their own berries during the growing season, typically June through September, and shop the farm store—known as the "Berry Building"—which features homemade jams, jellies, and locally made gifts. The farm also includes a six-acre native wildflower prairie, making it a scenic destination for nature lovers. Open select days throughout the week, Edge of the Woods provides a peaceful, hands-on farm experience just minutes from downtown Indianola.

From the original 2 employees, we now have over 60 full time employees and about 50 part time and seasonal employees. Sales in our retail store have grown significantly over the years, and we have a full line of our award-winning products available for you to serve to your family. Over 140 additional stores also retail Edgewood Locker products for customers to purchase throughout the State of Iowa and beyond. Custom processing of beef, hogs, lambs, goats, and venison is still a major part of the business as well. In 2024, we processed 3,947 hogs and 1,572 beef. Deer processing has grown into a major part of our business. In the most recent deer season, hunters brought in 3,812 whole deer carcasses and over 190,000 lbs of boneless deer to be made into our award winning sausage. In total, Edgewood Locker made over 1.1 Million pounds of sausage in 2024.

Gravert's is a family-owned and operated orchard in eastern Iowa along the Mississippi River. Dad, Gene Gravert, planted the first trees in 1986  to have an orchard along with his traditional farm of cattle, hogs and crops. When he passed away, wife, Diane, and daughter, Laura, joined in partnership to keep the orchard. They expanded the orchard since and have added a farm store and a cider operation. Today, lots of family members help with an eye on the future! At Gravert's we have over 40 varieties of apples for eating, baking and making apple sauce, tart to sweet. We also have pears. You can pick your own apples, or visit our store for apples ready to go, along with many other goodies.

Harvestville Farm is a fifth-generation family farm in Southeast Iowa that offers a little something in every season. Hillsdale Lily Garden, owned by Todd and Lu Peverill, is located southeast of Glenwood, Iowa, on land that has been in Lu's family for nearly 80 years. The garden honors the area's history, once home to the thriving town of Hillsdale, which became a ghost town after the railroad left in 1907.

K & K Gardens is an innovative retail garden nursery nestled on the edge of the prairie in Northeast Iowa.

Little Sioux Stems is a specialty cut flower farm founded in 2022. Travel just fifteen minutes southwest of the Iowa great lakes or twelve minutes northwest of Spencer to take in all the beauty of the countryside at Little Sioux Stems. It is conveniently located on the hard surface road A43 and just across the road from the Little Sioux Orchard. The farm encompasses just under 5 acres of true farm life. The roughly quarter acre garden is neatly organized in rows of 35+ varieties for cutting and loaded with pollinators. From the flowers and farm animals to the old cabin in the pasture, there is something for everyone to see on the farm.

Mairet Farms opened in 2009 under the leadership of Shane Mairet a recent graduate of Iowa State University with a background in agriculture and business. His wife Karin Mairet joined him in 2015. As Mairet Farms grew as a business so did their small family. Both Karin and Shane were born and raised in Iowa with direct ties to Iowa farming. Additionally, Karin and Shane work as Iowa educators, teaching the next generation of Iowa grown students. Shane and his parents have raised honey bees not only to support their crops but to provide local honey to residents. Owner Kyle Weaver opened Weaver Meats in the fall of 2013. Kyle is the grandson of Leonard Pettit, who served Afton with custom meat processing from 1975-2005.

Weaver Meats is a custom and USDAS meat processing locker that butcher beef, pork, and sheep. Along with processing we also offer a small frozen retail line full of beef and pork products.  During the hunting seasons we provide custom processing for deer.

Whitetail Valley Farm is home to three generations of the Kutzli family. Our farm is located on 50 acres in southwest Iowa just outside the entrance to Viking Lake State Park. Over 70 varieties of apple trees grow in our sustainably managed meadow orchard. We sell apples at the farm and press juice for making cider and apple wine. We recently opened Whitetail Valley Cellars Winery, our newest venture. The Kutzli family origins are in the Rhine valley wine region of Switzerland. For a long time we have been making wine to enjoy with friends. Now we want to share our carefully crafted fruit wines. In our Swiss themed tasting room, Das Stübli, friends can enjoy wine, cheese and Swiss chocolate. Along with orchard produce at Whitetail Valley Orchard we open Grampaw's Punkin Patch in September and October. It is a safe place to bring the little ones to pick out a punkin and enjoy harvest season on the farm. This “wine cellar” is where the magic happens. You’ll enjoy a stunning view of the Mississippi River while sipping on wine made just feet away from where you sit. In addition to wine by the glass or bottle, we offer delicious charcuterie platter and dips, wine slushies, and live music during the summer! You can take a glass of wine through the vineyard and along the bluff trail as you explore our beautiful vineyard and learn about how grapes turn into wine. We are open daily at 11:00am.

WW Homestead Dairy, located in Waukon, Iowa, offers a variety of high-quality dairy products made from fresh, non-homogenized, cream-line milk.
