Buffalo Ridge Orchard (BRO) is a small family farm that relies on a small crew of dedicated staff committed to the production of local food. This planting began the transition of a traditional 80-acre agricultural farm to one that supplies healthy local produce. The orchard has expanded from 800 to over 5,500 trees. Today BRO has over 50 different types of new and classic apple varieties. BRO also grows over a dozen different type vegetables and 40 types of herb plants.

Kaufman Farms is a fifth-generation, family-owned and operated farm that specializes in raising beef cattle, show pigs, and feedlot hogs. In addition to livestock, Kaufman Farms grows corn and soybeans and produces a large quantity of small square straw bales for sale to the public and contractors, along with small square and large round hay bales. With 35 head of beef cows and 85 sows farrowed twice a year, the farm offers high-quality pigs for show, open gilts, bred gilts, and mature pigs for custom butchering. The Morningside University Garden to Table Experience is an educational and community-driven initiative that began eight years ago. Since its launch, the garden has produced over 14,000 pounds of fresh food, with more than 4,600 pounds donated to Siouxland Food Bank distribution sites. Located on Morningside University's campus, the garden includes the Cargill Outdoor Classroom and Lags Greenhouse, which have expanded its growing capacity and role as a hands-on learning space. While the garden primarily serves students, visitors are welcome as part of scheduled campus tours through the university’s admissions office. These visits often include opportunities to explore the garden, meet faculty, and learn about the university’s sustainability efforts.
